Phnom Penh: The Embassy of Italy in Thailand, the Italian Trade Agency in Thailand, and the Italian Cambodian Business Association (ICBA) are thrilled to announce the commencement of the 8th Edition of Italian Cuisine Week in the World in Cambodia. This gastronomic celebration is scheduled to unfold from November 19 to 26, 2023. Designed to promote Italian food and wine culture, the event is set to captivate Cambodia, as numerous Italian restaurants in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampot, and Kep gear up to present special menus and wine promotions throughout the week.
His Excellency Mr. Paolo Dionisi, the Italian Ambassador to Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This extraordinary festival of Italian gastronomy is a global culinary extravaganza that highlights the rich and diverse flavors of Italian cuisine and the country's renowned list of the world's finest wines. Italian Cuisine Week is celebrated annually in about 110 countries worldwide. Following the festivities in Bangkok, Cambodia will join the celebration next week. We are delighted that the celebration of Italian Cuisine Week in Cambodia will extend not only to Phnom Penh but also to Siem Reap, Kampot, and the beach town of Kep."
Ms. Paola Guida, Italian Trade Commissioner-Thailand & Myanmar, provided insights into the exciting events lined up for the Italian Cuisine Week in Cambodia 2023. Organized by ICE-Italian Trade Agency in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Bangkok, ICBA Italian Cambodian Business Association, and Ideal Distribution (Cambodia), the highlight of the week will be the Wine Master Class and Walk Around Tasting at the iconic Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh, on November 21, 2023.
The afternoon masterclass, commencing at 2 p.m., is tailored for professionals, while the evening masterclass, designed for public members passionate about Italian wines, starts at 6 p.m. The renowned wine expert, a certified professional Sommelier Asst Prof. Falan Srisuriyachai, will lead these masterclasses, promising an enlightening experience. The evening will conclude with a Walk-around Tasting from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Ms. Guida disclosed key highlights of the Wine Masterclass and Walk Around Tasting, including Wine and Food Pairing Technique, where participants can discover the art of pairing Italian wines with delectable Italian cuisine, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Italian Wine Tasting will explore the nuances and intricacies of Italian wines, from the bold reds to the crisp whites. Additionally, there will be a Wine Analysis Workshop, delving deep into the world of wine analysis and teaching participants to discern the subtle flavors and aromas that make each bottle unique.
